HAY's Palissade Lounge Chair is one of 19 different outdoor furniture pieces that share the same principle geometry. The chair is available in either a low version or a high version with extra support for the head. Created by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Palissade grew from a period of research at their studio into outdoor furniture typologies. The collection is visually light yet reassuringly strong. Combining archetypal furniture references and simplicity in form, HAY have produced an instant classic. Each individual piece has been carefully engineered to hold the body in perfect balance. There are almost imperceptible, but significant changes to the angles, curves and the juxtaposition between the frame and slats in each different typology. The design itself provides comfort and elegance, while the colour palette of light grey, cream white, anthracite and olive allow the pieces to be at home in both natural landscapes and urban settings. Palissade is intended to be used over a longer period of time and become more beautiful over the years.
